National Council concludes 33rd Session

The 33rd Session concluded with His Excellency the Hon'ble Chairperson Sangay Dorji expressing his deepest appreciation to His Majesty The King for his unwavering commitment to the peace and prosperity of all Bhutanese citizens. 

Gelephu Mindfulness City and His Majesty Gyalsung Initiative

The Chairperson extended heartfelt thanks for His Majesty's announcement of the Gelephu Mindfulness City project, a visionary initiative aligned with the Gross National Happiness philosophy. This project aims to stimulate economic growth, attract investment, and enhance individual well-being. He offered unwavering support and prayers for its success.

The Chairperson also announced the upcoming launch of His Majesty's Gyalsung training program on September 5, 2024. Highlighting its potential to empower Bhutanese youth, he called upon the nation for prayers and unwavering support.

Session Highlights and Acknowledgements

The Chairperson provided a summary of the session's achievements, including the adoption of three Review Reports, Budget Bills, and seven Question Hour sessions with Ministers, including the Prime Minister.

His Excellency expressed his gratitude to various organizations that ensured the session's smooth operation. This included the Royal Bhutan Police, Department of Procurement and Properties, Ministry of Health, Jigme Dorji Wangchuk National Referral Hospital, Bhutan Broadcasting Service Corporation, and other media houses. Special thanks were extended to the Secretary General, secretariat staff, and National Council Lam Sungkhop Leki Dorji for their vital contributions.

The Chairperson also acknowledged the invaluable insights and wisdom offered by the Hon'ble Deputy Chairperson and Members, as well as the prayers for peace and prosperity conducted by the Central Monastic Body and other religious communities.

Guests included the Hon'ble Speaker, Opposition Leader, Cabinet Ministers, Members of the National Assembly, and other dignitaries.
