LC consults Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Centre

The Legislative Committee (LC) held a consultative meeting with the officials from the Bhutan Alternative Dispute Resolution Centre to discuss amendments of the ADR Act, 2013.

A presentation on Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) in Bhutan by Drangpon Tenzin was shared to the Members.

One key point discussed was Section 150 of the ADR Act, 2013, which defines the grounds for setting aside an arbitration award. The proposed changes aim to refine the criteria, enhancing the effectiveness of the dispute resolution process.

The Committee also engaged in questions and answer session with ADR Centre officials, providing a platform to address specific concerns and gather additional insights from the Chief Administrator.

The Committee will continue to hold consultative meetings with relevant stakeholders as part of the amendment process.
