
National Council convenes 6th plenary
A simple ceremony to mark the appointment of Eminent Member, Hon'ble Phuntsho Rapten as one of the Advisors to the Interim Government was held this morning.
Following which, the plenary convened to begin planning for the 33rd session.
The Hon'ble Chairperson updated the Members on the Royal Assent granted on the BIMSTEC Charter; Agreement on Transit-in-Traffic between the People's Republic of Bangladesh and the Royal Government of Bhutan; the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities; and the Biological Corridor Nine Bill of Bhutan 2023.
The Chairperson directed the respective committees to deliberate on existing issues, prioritizing the issue that merits consideration in the upcoming session. The committees will present their findings during the next plenary meeting.
Furthermore, the Chairperson reminded the Members of maintaining a non-political stance during the election period.
