Consultation with Bhutan Stroke Foundation

The Social and Cultural Affairs Committee (SCAC) met with the Bhutan Stroke Foundation (BSF) Executive Director, social workers and beneficiaries.

Established in 2019, the BSF is dedicated to realizing a stroke-free Bhutan. Presently, the foundation supports nearly 200 registered stroke patients with holistic and inclusive services. According to the JDWNRH, there are  3 – 4 stroke cases recorded every week.

The Chair, Hon'ble Kesang Chuki Dorjee congratulated the Executive Director and the BSF for receiving the prestigious World Stroke Organization Award for Individual Achievement 2022.

Discussions focused on the existing healthcare services, employment and other challenges encountered by stroke-affected individuals and their families.
