
Good Governance Committee Begins Consultations on Rural Life Insurance Scheme
The Good Governance Committee of the National Council
is reviewing the Rural Life Insurance Scheme, which was last revised in April
2017.
As part of the review, the Committee began its stakeholder consultations with the public of Tang Gewog in Bumthang on March 30, 2025. The consultations will continue with Saling Gewog, Nganglam Drungkhag and its gewogs, Phangkhar Gewog, Serzhong, Chuzergang, Umling, Tareythang Gewogs, and Gasey Tshowom Gewog.
To ensure a comprehensive review, the Committee is directly engaging with rural communities to gather their perspectives, concerns, and expectations regarding the scheme. The findings from the review will be presented for deliberation in the upcoming summer session.
