Legislative Committee Engages with the officials of Royal Bhutan Police on the Amendment of the Penal Code of Bhutan 2004

On March 13, 2025, the Legislative Committee (LC) convened a stakeholder meeting with the Royal Bhutan Police to discuss amendments to the Penal Code of Bhutan 2004. The meeting aimed to capture key perspectives from law enforcement, ensuring that their insights contribute to the development of a more effective and just criminal justice system that aligns with Bhutan’s evolving legal landscape.

The discussions provided a vital platform for addressing necessary amendments to the Penal Code, incorporating diverse viewpoints from police officials, legal experts, official from other experts , and the amendment will be tabled and presented in the forthcoming summer session, marking a significant step towards strengthening the legal framework.
